The Physical Education Department is handled by the PED Mr. Safwan Khan. Mr. Safwan Khan joined BIT in March 2011. He is the holder of a Master’s degree in Physical Education (MPEd) from Mangalore University. He has the distinction of having passed the KSLET exam.

 

An all-inclusive program of sports is an integral part of life at BIT College. We strive for excellence and participation. Opportunities are offered to everyone for representing BIT at various forums.. We nurture our sportsmen and women throughout their time at the College and allow strong teams to grow up and develop together.

We endeavour to create a good balance between performance and participation and, above all, we encourage our pupils to enjoy their sport and give their best at whatever level they participate. The vision of the department of Physical Education at BIT is very clear. It is the all round development and character building of the students through sports and team participation. With the rich tradition of sports, students with dedication, devotion and determination can make their career a great success

Sports improve emotional well being, self confidence and leadership qualities. It can bring out the hidden talents of students and improves interaction with diverse sets of people. Sport at BIT offers students constructive and positive pathways, where the willingness to be actively and practically involved is just as important as the results. We also strive for excellence and would like to see every student maximize their physical potential and experience, across a range of different sports.

BIT provides facilities for both indoor and outdoor sports and games to its students, faculty and staff. Recently, a multi-gym facility has also been added to the facilities.

Multi-gym facility

 

Year 2012-13:

  • Runners-up in Mysore Zonal Level VTU inter college football competition held at UBDT College of Engineering, Davengere.
  • Participated in Inter Zonal Level VTU football competition held at REVA College of Engineering, Bangalore.

 

 

Year 2013-14:

  • Runners-up in Mangalore Zonal Level VTU inter college football competition held at PA College of Engineering, Mangalore.
  • Participated in Inter Zonal Level VTU football competition held at Shree Nagarjuna College of Engineering, Bangalore.
