The Association of Civil Engineering (India) Mangalore centre, held the Engineers Day and Techno Week – 2014 celebrations at Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT), Mangalore. The programme was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Palakshappa K, in which he addressed the guests, faculty and students of the Civil Engineering Department of BIT. He recalled the works carried out by SIR M VISVESWARAYA and his innovative thinking as an Engineer and a statesman.
A motivational talk was delivered on the topic of “Positive Attitude” towards life and profession for the upcoming Civil Engineering students by Mr. Vijaya Vishnu Mayya, of Anubhav Designers. The talk was highly inspiring as was evident from the applause which followed his talk. Thereafter, a technical talk was presented on “Basics of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering” by Dr. Sunil B M, NITK, Suratkal. Mr. Suraj Kumar from Ramco Cements Limited, Mr. Prem, Mr. Raghuram, Mr. Subramanya Prabhu from the Association of Civil Engineers (India), Mangalore chapter and Campus Director of BIT Dr. M. Sainath were also present.
