Independence Day Celebration at BIT

It was a red letter day in the history of India when the country got her freedom on August 15, 1947. It took hundreds of years to us to break shackles of slavery. People of the country celebrate this festival every year with great pomp and show.

Bearys institute of technology celebrated 71st Independence Day on 15th August 2017 with large crowd of staff, students. The celebrations began with the prayer, all the students and teachers saluted the flag and then sang the National Anthem.

The tricolor flag was unfurled by Dr. A J Antony, principal of BIT along with Prof. Bhavesh Mehtha, principal of BEADS in the presence heads of various departments and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom.

Then followed by speech from principal in which he narrated the contribution of various eminent personalities who took part in the freedom struggle. The program was followed by speech from senior advisor Dr. Raikar, he narrated the names of people who sacrificed their life and made the country Independent. He presented the present situations in India and he stressed what really India needs in future and the celebration went on with the speech from the 1st year students.

All the speakers spoke on the significance of the historic day. They advised the students to become ideal citizens of the country.

The end of the ceremony was marked by distribution of sweets.

The Independence Day has a great importance in every citizen’s life. This day reminds us every year that freedom is sacred and citizens must do everything to ensure that it shall not be endangered.
