The BIT Knowledge Campus has organized a 21days First-year orientation program from 1st – 21st August’19. BIT believes in giving strong fundamentals and the tools which they need to prepare for careers and continue to grow and adapt in a quickly changing technical world. The event began at 10:00 AM in the international Seminar Hall with an invocation of Almighty. Chief Guest of the program was Er. Jeevan Saldanha, MD Spectrum Industries. Dr. Mustafa Basthikodi, Prof. & HOD, Dept. of CSE welcomed the gathering. Followed by that Inaugural and precedential Address by Mr. Syed Mohammed Beary, Chairman, Bearys Group & Bearys Academy of Learning. In his speech, he stretched on Truth and Trust which leads to Happiness. He also told “be a good human being than you become a good Engineer or Doctor” Dr. P. Mahabaleswarappa, Principal, BIT spoke on this occasion, he quoted Pandith Jawaharlal Nehru, “Aiming or Dreaming at something big makes you always big “so aim always big; dream high and direct all your actions so as to translate your aims and dreams into reality. In his speech, he mentioned three hours of study preparation every day will make you as College topper always. With 100% of attendance and four hours of study preparation, every day will make you as University topper. To become the topper of the university it is such a simple job, therefore resolve yourself now that you must be the university topper. He spoke about College Vision, Mission and the facilities available in the departments of Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Electronics & communications Engineering.
Chief Guest Er. Jeevan Saldanha delivered a motivational talk in his talk he stressed upon self-motivation and will take up the task. And skill will definitely help resolve the task, no matter how big the task is.
Ar. Ashok Mendonca, Principal, BEADS addressed the gathering, in his speech he told the students to focused on what they do while in the class and in the Laboratory. He told, attend each and every class and make it a reality and practice the following FIVE points.
- Don’t digest any definition, until you get convinced the logic behind it.
- Don’t accept any equation unless it is derived from the basics.
- Doesn’t cram up the subject, better remember by proper understanding the subject.
- Don’t study for hours together, once a week or fortnight, but rather study steadily even for an hour every day.
- Don’t miss to write down, when you understand the solution to a problem.
Dr. Aziz Musthafa, Director, BIT Polytechnic, addressed the gathering in his speech he told the story of Sir. Alexander Fleming, how a son of labor became a great scientist and contributed to society. The program was witnessed by various department Heads. There was remarks session for Students and Parents, in that they give their feedback about college. Dr. Anjum Khan, HOD, First Year delivered the vote of thanks. The inaugural program concluded with National Anthem on 1st August 2019 at 1:30 PM.
